MICHA Scholarship & Work Study Application

MICHA offers a number of opportunities for those who may need assistance with paying for their tuition and other related expenses. Our goal is to make the Michael Chekhov work available to those that might otherwise be unable to participate.

The Joanna Merlin Professional Artists Initiative (JMPAI) Scholarship

Recipients of The JMPAI Scholarship receive paid tuition. Eligible programs include both online and onsite trainings and workshops.  Additionally for our onsite June training program, recipients may receive full room & board.  Travel to and from onsite programs are the responsibility of the recipient. Please note that full scholarships are highly competitive, and we receive many more applications than we are able to offer.

Internship Work-Study Scholarships

Interns are a valuable part of the MICHA community and are available for all online and onsite trainings and workshops. Interns receive partial tuition paid varying from 25% to 100%. Room & Board and transportation to and from onsite trainings is not covered. Interns work side by side with the MICHA staff and faculty. A schedule for full participation within the desired workshop and/or training is provided, and a schedule of required duties is also expected. Duties may include administrative work, logistical set up and a variety of other positions as needed. Internships are ideal for college age students and recent graduates. If you are accepted as an intern in your chosen workshop or training your duties will then be assigned based on your availability, skills, interests and abilities.

Applications will open in early 2025.
