John McManus has worked internationally as an actor, director and teacher for 40 years. He was a founding member and artistic director of 'Walking the dog Theater (Australia) and Shakespeare Alive! (USA). He has taught the Michael Chekhov Technique at MICHA since 2011 and also at many other institutions including HB Studios (USA), Actor's Center (Australia), The Dipartmento Delle Arti, University Bologna, (Italy). He is currently teaching Michael Chekhov inspired Voice and Speech, Acting and Movement at Point Park University in Pittsburgh. John's research interest lies in developing a voice and speech technique out of the Chekhov Technique. He has studied Rudolf Steiner's Creative Speech and Eurythmy, as well as the voice techniques of Patsy Rodenburg, Kristin Linklater, Catherine Fitzmaurice and he is a certified practitioner of Colaianni Phonetic Pillows.
