    Joerg Andrees
    Joerg Andrees is a director of theater, dance, music and film and performs solo and improvised work in Germany and abroad. Currently, he is a leading faculty at the Michael Chekhov Studio Berlin (MTSB), he delivers courses throughout Germany with the Alfred Schnittke Academy International in Hamburg and other institutions. As founder of The Michael Chekhov International Academy (MCIA) since 2012, he leads the Intensive Training Program in the Chekhov Technique which progresses towards the Facilitator/Teaching Certification. He teaches frequently in Dublin, Ireland, at the MC Studio Dublin, at the Gormanston Summer School (Stageworks), and the Gaiety School of Acting. He has taught the Chekhov work internationally in Russia, England, the United States and Australia. In 1992 he co-founded the first Michael Chekhov Conference in Berlin which initiated a world-wide Michael Chekhov Movement. Joerg first studied the Chekhov technique in New York with Ted Pugh and Fern Sloan in 1989 and he has been integrating and teaching the work ever since. Born in East Germany where he studied Film Directing (as a student of Heiner Carow) at Filmhochschule Babelsberg, in 1989 he moved to West Germany, where he currently resides.
