is the artistic director of the Michael Chekhov International School and the Michael Chekhov Studio Hamburg. He is a founding member of Michael Chekhov Europe. A professional actor and theatre director, he has been performing in German state and regional theatres for the last 25 years: Theater Kiel, Theater Lübeck, Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Altonaer Theater, FWT Köln, Komödie Düsseldorf, Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, and others. He worked with Simon McBurney & Complicite, Augusto Boal and Yoshi Oida, and appeared as ‘Faust’ in Jobst Langhans’ production of Goethe’s Faust I+II. As an award-winning director he is particular known for his playful productions of the works of Bertolt Brecht. Until 2015 he was the associate artistic director of Kreuzgangspiele Feuchtwangen, one of Germany’s biggest summer theatres. Mr.Meyer-Horsch learned with Michael Chekhov’s students Hurt Hatfield, Deidre Hurst du Prey, Mala Powers and Joanna Merlin, as well as with master teachers from Germany and Russia. In his approach to the Chekhov Technique he incorporates the exploration of children’s games and work with masks. Since 1994 he has been teaching throughout Europe, Russia, Israel, Brazil, the US and East Asia. He is a lecturer at Schule für Schauspiel Hamburg and at Yeditepe University Istanbul, Turkey, and he serves as co-artistic director of the Michael Chekhov International Summer Academy in Groznjan, Croatia, and of Michael Chekhov Training Taiwan. Mr.Meyer-Horsch holds diplomas in Theology, Philosophy and Theatre Pedagogic from the Universities of Heidelberg, Hamburg, London (King’s College) and Kiel.
